Del Monte Diced Tomatoes w/ Basil, Garlic & Oregano (14.5 oz.)
$ 2.09
by Carolyn Miller Date Added: Monday 15 December, 2008
Why so much sodium in this product???
I was just using two coupons that I had for free cans. Then, when I got ready to put diced tomatoes in a recipe, I compared the two cans that I had picked up. One was Del Monte Diced Tomatoes (14.5 oz) - Basil ,Garlic & Oregano. The other can was S&W Ready -Cut Italian Recipe Tomatoes Diced with Garlic, Oregano & Basil.
S&W contains only 190 mg of sodium.
Del Monte contains 520 mg of sodium. I believe that taste should not depend upon sodium. I opened the S&W can for tonight's recipe. I'm thinking about returning my free can of Del Monte or throwing it away.
