History
ShopFoodEx was founded in 2002 in Roanoke, VA. by Greg Land and partner Jeremy Barker. In 2009, we welcomed Mike and Tanya Lee into the fold as they joined in our quest to further expand the goals of ShopFoodEx.
We have come quite far from our original concept which was to offer a local grocery delivery service in our area to busy families and to those who were unable to grocery shop on their own.
Looking back to those early days we didn't know exactly what to expect but with plenty of newspaper articles and local media coverage we were ready for action. With gusto, we exclaimed "bring on the orders" and the orders came ... not just locally but from all over the country! Thus a transition was in order. The company soon morphed into both a mail order grocery company and a local grocery delivery service.
This continued up until January 2008 when we made the difficult decision to discontinue our local business. Quite frankly, we could no longer sustain both services and therefore focused our efforts on the growing national market. We haven't looked back.
The ShopFoodEx Difference
ShopFoodEx customers can buy groceries online and have them delivered to anywhere in the world.
While our customers primarily buy their groceries to ship within the United States, we also ship online grocery orders to Military APO's, FPO's and DPO's (Diplomatic Pouch Service). In addition, we can easily ship your online grocery order overseas via our partnership with International Checkout.
At ShopFoodEx, we take pride in exceeding our customer's expectations and providing friendly service for each and every customer. If it’s not right, we are committed to making it right.
And are we doing it right? Well in 2009 we were honored to be named one of the top 10 online grocery delivery companies in the world.
Giving Back
Although we are no longer offering our local delivery service, we still remain committed to our roots here in Roanoke.
We strive to give back to our community by way of food donations to local churches, monthly PTA school donations, and financial donations to local food kitchens.
